Family Bonds.. (Part 2)

I make my way up the stairs and push the door open.
Familiarity comes to me. A sense of belonging I feel..

The bed with the blue mattress on it, the pink curtains.. The colours have now faded away, but I recognize them.
A picture hangs on the wall.
A girl in her teens with a boy besides her. He is holding her tight.
The girl is me.
The boy is the person for whom I had left my family when I was eighteen.
I returned back only today, after I heard that my mother was in the hospital.
I left my mother when she needed me.
And, the boy I loved, left me.

My mother was always there for me, but I... I was never there for her!

I sit on my bed and watch the night sky.. And before long, I fall asleep holding my mother's diary in my arms, letting my tears wipe the dust from it..

(Final part..To be cont..) :)

  6. @ Sunakshi: Thank you :)

@ Suvaiba: Thank you so much. It is sad when we forget about the ones who care for us.. Love does exist though.. It just takes us time to realize :)

@ Confused soul: Many a times, we do chose someone over our families, but in the end, everyone leaves, apart from our family :)

@ Brain: Thanks a ton :) Glad you like it :)

  12. Sometimes I wonder if true love exists.
And this one made me melancholic. :@
Though, I'm still hanging on for more.

  13. It's coming along well. Although I anticipated a longer story from the plotline you told.

Nevertheless, brevity is the key here. I think your writing tyle is now beginning to mature - essaying the harsh realities of life without making it too angsty. Well-written. :D
