Blank Pages..

It’s funny
How people change with time, or rather how we do. Traits that we never knew about suddenly start to surface, and then the relationship starts to get blurry. Long talks are replaced by short conversations, and those friendly warm hugs are replaced with formal ones. What went wrong, we never seem to figure out, nor do we try to mend things. Our minds remain firm, our ego keeps rising. But our hearts? They feel empty.

It’s funny
How easily we tend to walk away, or rather how we can watch someone else walk away from our lives. We make somebody feel worthless, or we watch ourselves getting stabbed. When we leave, we tell the other person to hold himself or herself together and to remain strong. But when we are told the same things, we can’t stop our hearts from breaking.

We turn our backs to things and simply walk away from them, thinking that we’ll never have to face them again. But is that really the case?

It’s funny
How years later, when we come across those broken relationships, we cannot meet the eyes of the people who once meant so much to us. We let go so easily, but coming across those broken pieces once again, leaves us with nothing but a heavy sigh.

Looking at their faces, unable to understand what it’s trying to convey to us, it’s funny how we easily fake a smile and then simply walk away.
In the end, we’re like nothing but a blank page. We go around writing and erasing our lives. We fly from one place to another, and even if we get soaked, how does it matter? We’re blank. What is there to lose?

  6. Very true! We humans must be the greediest and the most self centred beings to have ever existed. How easily we forget the series of good things done by a person if he/she commits even one single mistake...

  7. Interesting read. Truth of the current generation. Earlier it was just one car, one fridge, one house bought for a lifetime. Today even one wife or one husband is becoming uncertain. We are confusing roles in the name of financial independence. Joint family is passe...
We are indeed becoming blank pages.

  9. Very Insightful. Life is really such, and at the end we are just left with blank pages. Abstract topic, but very put forward!

    - this is lovely,sweetie.
True, we are all blank pages. No one else could write our own story but us. Life is full of ironies, and that's what makes it beautiful. :)

  14. Interesting thoughts. Changing relationships are indeed tough to handle.

  15. Yes, relationships keep on changing .. but do we really remain blank at the end? I guess not. We carry all the impressions with and within us .. unfortunately. If we could really be blank that would be a great achievement.

  31. Well written and quite apt, but I beg to differ with you on a few points. Why are our lives a blank page, because we have made it blank right? What if from the very beginning, we had filled it with colors? What we had taken the right decision right in the very beginning? Would have then our lives been a blank page? I know it is just a write-up, but people write only what is in their head and heart, right? I was surfing the net recently when I came across the saga of a teenager, Shraddha Sharma, 16 year old to be precise. She is from Dehradun, sings and posts the songs online. Initially she had no idea of what she was doing, coz it was for fun. Later when people started accepting her, she became a web sensation overnight. Today she is being termed as the Justin Bieber of India. I also read online that she has been roped in by a renowned hair oil brand to star in their TVC. She made the right decision at the right time. It is never to late to get some color into your lives. I would like to share the link of her recent song with you: http://bit.ly/J9RVh8. Enjoy and do get back with your thoughts. Cheers!

  32. well said dear.. some relationships/friendships end abruptly, and some even after having ended, are never really over.. it's just meant to happen that way..

but in the end.. it's all gotta come to a stop sometime or the other.. a blank page.

  33. Very beautiful thoughts PhilO.. n very well written.. I think we all start as blank pages and color them with the prides and prejudices that we pick along the way... it'll be good if we can shake it all off once a while n start off again as blank pages.. :)

    Very well written, PhilO :)
